Nomad’s new wireless charger is cleverly designed to upgrade a Tesla Model 3

There’s a lot of impressive technology packed into a Tesla Model 3, but there’s one thing missing: wireless charging for a smartphone. Fortunately, Nomad’s new Tesla Model 3 Wireless Charger is here to offer an upgrade for your Tesla and cut the wires.

As the name implies, the Tesla Model 3 Wireless Charger is a wireless charging pad that’s been specifically designed to plug into the USB ports beneath the center console on a Model 3. So instead of dealing with wires and plugs, you’ll be able to place up to two phones down on the pad to charge while on the go.

The Tesla Model 3 Wireless Charger offers two 7.5W coils (so you can fast wireless charge two iPhones at once). Cleverly, the Wireless Charger also features an integrated 6,000mAh battery that can store power when you’re not actively charging phones and allow the chargers to boost power output from 1A to 2A for speedier power delivery.

The main downside is that in order to install the Wireless Charger, you’ll have to give up access to both of the USB ports. (The physical charger will block access to the ports, so you’ll have to completely remove it if you’d like to plug something in directly.) But assuming you’ve already embraced the wireless charging life, it shouldn’t be that big of a loss.

The Tesla Model 3 Wireless charger will cost $149.95 when it ships on September 1st, but Nomad is also offering an early preorder sale that knocks the price down to $129.95.
