SNL honored Prince last night with tribute special

Even though last night’s Saturday Night Live was supposed to be a rerun, the sketch took time to pay tribute to Prince, who died on Thursday at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota. Jimmy Fallon took the stage to give an unrehearsed memorial to His Purpleness, comparing the performer to such greats as the Beatles and Elvis and saying, “No matter what, Prince has never not been cool.”

Later in the evening, Fallon gave an account of Prince’s performance at last’s year’s SNL 40 after party. Former cast member Tim Kazurinksy uploaded his own video of the performance — which you can watch below — wherein Prince absolutely shred on the guitar. That, along with his other performances, will surely go down in history as just one of many incredible displays of musical talent.
