If you haven’t experienced the time-traveling teen drama Life is Strange, now is the perfect time: starting tomorrow, the first episode will be completely free on all platforms. First launched early last year, Life is Strange is five-part interactive drama that blends elements of TV shows like Twin Peaks and Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the choice-based gameplay closely associated with Telltale Games, creators of series like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us.
You play as Max, a budding high school photographer, who learns early on that she has an incredible power: she can rewind time, and alter the past. Much of the game is spent talking to people and watching events unfold, but the real meat comes from using that power to make often emotionally difficult decisions that influence how the story unfolds. It was one of my favorite games of last year — and you’ll be able to check out the first episode for free across a number of platforms, including PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4.
