Gold Edition Nokia 6700 Classic – The 18 Carat Gold Nokia Phone

A new gold edition of the Nokia 6700 Classic has now been added to the range, the Nokia 6700 Gold takes the great feature set from the other three models in the series and encases them in a new 18 carat gold plated housing for a very special looking phone.

The Gold Nokia 6700 Classic joins the black, silver and Illuvial editions of the Nokia 6700, this latest release is now available as a SIM Free phone with no network ties or contract to sign.

The SIM Free Nokia 6700 Gold is completely unlocked to all networks, this allows the consumer to simply insert their existing SIM Card to transfer their ‘saved-to-SIM’ contacts and retain their current mobile number.

The SIM Free system of ownership is a great way to replace a lost or stolen phone or to own a second device without committing to a second contract, once the phone is purchased it can be used on any network provider either as a Pay As You Go or Pay Monthly handset dependent on the SIM Card.

The new Gold Nokia 6700 is very much a business orientated mobile phone, features include a 5.0 mega pixel camera, Nokia Maps for turn by turn navigation and HSDPA allowing for speedy downloads of new applications, mobile content and surfing the internet.

The other interesting model from the range is the Nokia 6700 Illuvial edition which is a limited edition handset finished in black with pink patterned accents to appeal to a female audience, the Illuvial range also includes a variant of the Nokia 5530 and 6303.

Being a sleek, candy bar format phone the Nokia 6700 Classic does call for competition of within the manufacturers own portfolio as well as other manufacturers, contenders from within include the Nokia 6303, Nokia 6220 and Nokia 6730.

Although gold is not a common colour for mobile phones in general there are a number of other models available, these include the slightly less well equipped Nokia 6300 Gold and the top of the range designer Nokia 8800 Gold.

LG have a Gold LG Cookie edition which moves away from physical keys whilst Samsung also have a similar model in the Samsung Tocco Gold. Sony Ericsson have added gold as a colour to their Walkman range of phones with the Sony Ericsson W910i Gold and Sony Ericsson W595 Gold editions.

There are plans to release the new Nokia 6700 Classic Gold onto the networks as a pay monthly phone, releases on both Orange and O2 are planned for the next few days with more to follow.
