When Rockstar announced that it was delaying Red Dead Redemption 2 to next spring, the developer promised it would have more of the game to show later on this summer. Well, it’s a bit belated, but the reveal is finally here: and it comes in the form of a gorgeous new trailer.
The new clip delves a bit more into the story of the game, which — like its predecessor — is a gritty Western drama. Rockstar describes the narrative as “the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight, and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the long-awaited follow-up to the 2010 open-world Western. The sequel was first revealed last October with a lush trailer that followed a series of teases over social media. Rockstar also made the original game playable via Xbox One backwards compatibility.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was originally slated to launch this fall on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but is now due in the spring of 2018. In the meantime, there’s at least something to look forward to from Rockstar: the developer is releasing updated versions of its detective drama LA Noire in November on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and even virtual reality.
